For four days in April, 2003 the
men of the Sacred Path explored the philosophy of Master Teacher,
Eckhart Tolle, as outlined in his best selling book, “The Power
of Now.”
Eckhart expresses that, “For many
of us there are new discoveries to be made along the way; we are
not our mind; we can find our way out of psychological pain; authentic
human power is found by surrendering to the Now. We also find
out that the body is actually one of the keys to entry into a
state of inner peace, as are the silence and space all around
us. Indeed access is everywhere available. These access points,
or portals, can all be used to bring us into the Now, the present
moment, where problems do not exist. It is here we find our joy
and are able to embrace our true selves. It is here we discover
that we are already complete and perfect.”
Recorded live at Gindling Hilltop Camp Malibu
California on April 24 – 27, 2003.
4 hours of program on 3 audio compact disks.

Psychotherapist and men’s workshop
leader, Dr. Stephen J. Johnson, invites you to join 96 men who gathered
together for four days in October, 2002 to explore the dynamic of
the King, the fourth in the series of explorations into the four
archetypes or cornerstones of mature masculinity. We wish to acknowledge
authors Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette for their ground breaking
book King, Warrior, Magician, Lover which maps out our journey into
a deeper understanding of what it means to be fully constellated
in each of these archetypes.
“The good and generative King is also
a good Warrior, a positive Magician, and a great Lover…the King
archetype comes close to being God in his masculine form within
every man…And in many ways the King energy is Father energy…Historically,
kings have always been sacred. The mortal man who incarnates the
King energy or bears it for a while in the service of his fellow
human being, in the service of the realm (of whatever dimensions),
in the service of the cosmos, is almost an interchangeable part,
a human vehicle for bringing this ordering and generative archetype
into the world and into the lives of human beings.”- Robert Moore
and Douglas Gillette, “King, Warrior, Magician, Lover.”
Recorded live at Gindling Hilltop Camp, Los Angeles,
California on October 24-27, 2002.

For Men

Fred Sugerman, movement facilitator

Dr. Stephen J. Johnson invites
you to join 65 men who gathered together for four days in April
2002 to explore the dynamic of the Warrior, the third in the series
of explorations into the four archetypes or cornerstones of mature
masculinity. We wish to acknowledge authors Robert Moore and Douglas
Gillette for their ground book, King, Warrior, Magician, Lover,
which maps out our journey into a deeper understanding of what it
means to be fully constellated in each of these archetypes.
“The Warrior energy, then, no matter
what else it may be, is indeed universally present in us men and
in the civilizations we create, defend, and extend. It is a vital
ingredient in our world - building and plays an important role in
the extending the benefits of the highest human virtues and cultural
achievements to all of humanity. It is also true that this Warrior
energy often goes awry. When this happens, the results are devastating.
But we still have to ask ourselves why is it so present within us.
What is the Warrior’s function in the evolution of human life, what
is his purpose in the psyches of individual men? What are the Warrior’s
positive qualities? And how can they help us men in our personal
lives and in our work?” – Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette “King,
Warrior, Magician, Lover.”

California on April 18-21, 2002.

The Magician: Accessing The Shaman
In The Male Psyche
The Fourteenth Annual Fall Sacred Path Retreat For
Men
Featuring:
Dr. Stephen J. Johnson
Timothy Whispering Eagle
Ray Bunch
Mathew Burke
David Meyers
Christo Karam Pellani, percussion
65 men gathered together for three
days in October, 2001 to explore the dynamic of the Magician, the
second in the series of explorations into the four archetypes of
cornerstones of mature masculinity. We wish to acknowledge authors
Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette for their ground breaking book
King, Warrior, Magician, Lover which maps out our journey into a
deeper understanding of what it means to be fully constellated in
each of these archetypes.
“The Magician is the holy man, the
witch doctor, the shaman. Whatever his title, his specialty is knowing
something that others don’t know…He understands the links between
the unseen world of the spirits – the Divine World – and the world
of human beings and nature..He is the one who can think through
issues that are not obvious to other people. He is a seer and prophet
in the sense not only of predicting the future but also of seeing
deeply. The secret knowledge, of course, gives the magician an enormous
amount of power. And because he has knowledge of the dynamics of
energy flows and patterns in nature, in human individuals and societies,
and among the gods – the deep unconscious forces – he is a master
at containing and channeling power.” – Robert Moore and Douglas
Gillette, “King, Warrior, Magician, Lover.”

The Lover: Embracing the Mystical
Experience
The Fourteenth Annual Spring Sacred Path Retreat
For Men
Featuring:
Dr. Stephen J. Johnson
Timothy Whispering Eagle
David Meyers
Mathew Burke
Christo Karam Pellani, percussion
The men of the sacred path assembled
together for four days in April 2001 to explore the dynamic of the
Lover, one of the four archetypes or cornerstones of mature masculinity.
We wish to acknowledge authors Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette
for their ground breaking book King, Warrior, Magician, Lover which
maps out our journey into a deeper understanding of what it means
to be fully constellated in each of these archetypes.
“The Lover energy, arising as it does
out of the Oedipal Child, is also the source of spirituality – especially
of what we call mysticism. In the mystical tradition, which underlies
and is present in all world’s religions, the lover energy, through
the mystics, intuits the ultimate Oneness of all that is and actively
seeks to experience that Oneness in daily life, while it still dwells
in a mortal, finite man.” – Robert Moore and David Gillette, “King,
Warrior, Magician, Lover.”
Recorded live at Gindling Hilltop Camp Los Angeles,
California on April 19-22, 2001.

Fathers And Sons: Reconciling The
Dynamics
The Twelfth Annual Fall Sacred Path Retreat For
Men
Featuring:
Dr.Stephen J. Johnson
Timothy Whispering Eagle
David Meyers
Mathew Burke
Christo Karam Pellani, percussion
On this disc we explore the dynamic
of the father son relationship. Ralph Keyes in his book Sons On
Fathers: A Book Of Men’s Writing states, “How men feel about their
fathers is at the heart of how they feel about themselves. To understand
ourselves we must also understand our fathers. Accepting ourselves
means accepting him. At some point in his life, every man looks
in the mirror and sees his father.”

The Faces & Phases Of Love
The Eleventh Annual Fall Sacred Path Retreat For
Men
Dedicated to the life and legacy of Leo F. Buscaglia,
Ph.D. counselor, educator, philanthropist, mentor, and friend “
1924 – 1998”
Featuring:
Dr.Stephen J. Johnson
Timothy Whispering Eagle
Mathew Burke
The men on the sacred path
Stephen J. Johnson invites you to join
over 50 courageous men who gathered together for four days in October
1998 to explore the power of love and loving in their own lives
and the world at large. He states, “The enigma of ‘love’ renders
it one of the more confusing and complex phenomena puzzling humans
since the dawn of time. However, there is perhaps nothing more pressing,
now then ever before, than the need for greater understanding and
mastery of loving behavior in it’s many faces and phases from Narcissus
to Agape. It is perhaps a bold gesture on our part to offer a retreat
on love. We have been cautioned that men might shy away from this
topic since it’s not necessarily considered a point of interest.
We are willing to take this risk in faith that men are interested
and concerned…and we were not all disappointed.”
Joining Dr Johnson on this compelling set of tapes
is:
Timothy Whispering Eagle & Mathew Burke
Timothy Whispering Eagle is a Shaman…one
who reveals the path to truth. He is a leader of councils, ceremonies
and rituals as well as a guide to individuals seeking their path.
He wears the robes of several traditions and blends many cultural
and Sacred Teachings in the alignment of the highest good. Timothy
shares from a wisdom learned from lessons of struggle and extends
with a heart full of passion and compassion for the struggles that
others encounter.
Mathew Burke, CPA, is a “certified
poetic author” and storyteller who loves to weave poetry into the
tapestry of stories. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley and makes his
living in the world as a financial advisor and consultant to entrepreneurs
and entertainers. He states “It’s with many thanks to Michael Meade
and Riccado Morrison for their inspirational work and leadership
that I tell the Grimm’s Fairy Tale of Faithful John, an allegory
for the quest of true love. The adventures and characters of this
story serve as symbols and metaphors that invite and challenge the
listener to make the story come alive within themselves…to experience
the risks, sacrifices, confusion, and choices along the path; and
ultimately, to understand the rich rewards possible to those who
love truly and faithfully.”

California on October 22-25, 1998.

Living Your Ordinary Life In An Extraordinary
Way
The Eleventh Annual Spring Sacred Path Retreat For
Men
Featuring:
Dr. Stephen J. Johnson
Paulo Mattioli, percussionist
The men on the Sacred Path
There’s so much going on in the world
today. Do you feel like you are keeping up with the rapidly escalating
pace? If your life is like most days you feel pressured to keep
up, while there’s a voice inside your head screaming, “let me out
of this madness!” When was the last time you slowed down long enough
to take stock of your priorities? Do you know your destiny? Are
on your own path or on someone else’s? Where are you headed? The
theme of this conference provides an opportunity for you to discover
if you are living the life that you thought you would be by now
and ask yourself….what’s holding me back? What’s keeping me from
expressing my personal best?
Stephen J. Johnson encourages you to
INSPECT YOUR LIFE. He states, “I believe that we are living in a
time when we can do something that perhaps has not been possible
before in the course of human history. We could be monks without
monasteries, residing in the material world, yet manifesting our
mystical and spiritual nature. The challenge before us is to express
our ordinary lives in ordinary ways.”
Included is the story The Knight In
Rusty Armor by Robert Fisher as told by 6 men on the Sacred Path.
“It’s a lighthearted tale of a desperate knight in search of his
true self. His journey reflects our own – filled with hope and despair,
belief and disillusionment, laughter and tears. Anyone who has ever
struggled with the meaning of life and love will discover profound
wisdom and truth as this delightful fantasy unfolds.”
Recorded live at Gindling Hilltop Camp Los Angeles,
California on April 23-26, 1998.
4 sixty-minute audiocassettes.
